COMPETITION GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS (Draft)
At the provincial level Skills Canada BC has designed an event that allows the participants to receive recognition for their skills. The contests are practical challenges designed to test skills required in trades and technology occupations. Regional gold medalists may have an opportunity to move on and represent their provincial region at the provincials.
Secondary Level Competition Competitor Classification:
Attend a secondar-level school at any time between July 1st of the year of the last SkillsBC Competition, and the date of start of the SkillsBC Competition for which the competitor is registered.
AND
Be less than 22 years old on December 31st of the year of the SkillsBC Competition.
Post Secondary/Apprentice Level Competition Competitor Classification:
Competitors must not be a fully certified journeyperson (or equivalent) in the contest area in which they wish to compete at the time of the competition.
AND
Attend a post-secondary school or accredited training institution that is affiliated with Skills Canada BC, between July 1st of the year following the last competition to the date of the beginning of the BC Skills Competition for which the student is registered at sometime during this period.
Be less than 29 years old on December 31st of the year of the SkillsBC Competition.

Automotive Collision Repair
Baking
Hairdressing
Electrical Wiring
IT - Network Systems Administration
Masonry
Robotics
*Important: The above contests listed are direct entry competitions for secondary students at the provincials. if any of the contests above are offered at your regional competitions, you must register and compete in this contest regionally as it will act as the qualifier for the provincials. The contest at this point will no longer be a direct entry contest area for your region.
